Goodbye and hello :).

hmm, it has been a while since I last drafted an entry. Needless to say, I'm rather rusty in blogging now. I haven't been touching my blog in a while. ANYWAY, this is a good bye post :). I've decided to quit blogging as I'll be heading to UK for my studies soon. I'm doing LLB there for two years. Come visit me if you happen to be there!

Thank you so much fellow readers for supporting my blog, and also fellow bloggers for including me in the group and letting me tag along for the events and outings. I'm really glad to know you guys. I would like to add that this domain will expire by September, so ya no point I keep blogging here. I'll be leaving for the UK on the 24th of September 2011.

Last but not least, cheers to all you readers and bloggers out there. Au Revoir :)!

P.S I will definitely have a mini farewell with the bloggers before I go, or some prefer not to call it a farewell, or rather 'yumcha'. I'm actually thinking about Coffee Chemistry Cafe Signature which is yet to be opened in Empire Shopping Gallery :(. Anyway, for me, even mamak will do actually :P.

LAWASIA International Moot Competition (Malaysia, National Rounds) 2011

The LAWASIA season is here :). My classmates whom were involved had one final challenge to take on before they could qualify for the LAWASIA moot which would be held in South Korea. The Malaysian LAWASIA National Rounds was held in Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) last weekend, on the 23rd to 24th July. I'm blogging bout the event from an outsider point of view :).

I met up with my classmates whom were gonna participate in the competition in uni and we were headed off to KLRCA. Oh well, I'm glad I went :), because even though I didn't join the event as a mooter or a student volunteer, I was there as a visitor. I was able to witness the whole process of the competition, because visitors are allowed to sit in and watch :).

KLRCA wasn't as big as I expected it to be, it was quite small actually, the moot venues for each competition were small too, there were just one big tables with chairs surrounding it for mooters and judges. There were 3 judges, one of them from AG Chamber :). 2 mooters for the claimant and 2 mooters for the respondent, with 1 bench counsel for each sides, not forgetting 1 bailiff and 1 timekeeper.

Everyone was a winner that day, and honestly, I'm so proud of my friends, they really went all out to prove themselves to the judges, but the final total marks is the important ones, each teams' marks has got to combine together and add up to the final marks as the final result.

By the way, my seniors' team was the defending champion for last year's LAWASIA. According to my friends' prediction, after their marks combined together, none of the team will be able to make it to the finals in South Korea, owh that could be a little disappointing but it's ok, for other teams who made it to the finals in South Korea, get ready to kick other's asses and show the world what Malaysia is made of :).

35th Bon Odori 2011 Arigatou Malaysia

盆踊り a.k.a Bon Odori is a style of dancing performed during the Bon festival, a.k.a Obon.

Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the departed spirit of one's ancestor. This Buddhist custom has evolved into family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors' graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. It has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance, known as Bon-Odori.

This is when the Bon-Odori festival in Malaysia comes in. The Bon-Odori festival is held in two states of Malaysia, namely KL and Penang simultaneously every year. This year for KL, it was held in Matshushita Sports Centre, Shah Alam. The crowd was overwhelming, way more than last year. People from all races and every walks of life was there to celebrate this very festival. There were mainly dance performances and stalls selling food and beverages.

Everyone who went also received a free hand-held fan with the illustration below wrapped around the fan.

Needless to say, this makes it super convenient for participants to keep track of events :).

It was my first time there and also my last time to Bon Odori festival, that's because I'm heading off to UK in 2+ months time. It was a good experience, I have not seen so much crowd in ONE place before. It awes me because even though I have been to even more crowded places outside Malaysia, the difference here is that I can stand still and take photos with the crowds around me, whereas outside Malaysia, if I stand still and take photos with this sort of crowd, I would be push off to god-knows-where.

Media Preview : PUMA FAAS Test Challenge

Attending media and bloggers were given the opportunity to challenge the speed and take part in the challenge, the fastest recorded time during the preview session walked away with limited edition PUMA merchandise.

Miss Universe Malaysia 2012 Press Conference

Hi yo people, this blog has been frozen for a while, it's time to revive it. I'm de-freezing the blog not because I am in the mood or what, it's actually because there's something I need to post on, which is a recent event that I went :) *points at the title* Tada! It speaks for itself :), I went to the Miss Universe Malaysia 2012 Press Conference a while back in Sunway Lagoon with a bunch of medias and a few bloggers last Tuesday.

The invitation sent to me was as below :

SOOOOOO that was what the invitation said! Oh well, it was a 20 minutes long event, NOT FORGETTING the fact that it was a hot day :(, it didnt do any justice for one to be a Sunway Lagoon for a day like this except if one is aiming to get real tanned. Basically there were a bunch of medias that I don't know, beautiful girls, and let's say I felt really out of place at places like these, ok better not get carried away. Andrea Fonseka actually came and engaged me in a conversation, ah... beautiful girl with a friendly personality, I like :). I think I saw Daphne Iking and of course, Deborah Henry herself, in her beautiful wau costume :).

It's always fun no matter what activities we do with our friends. Especially those cherished one. It didn't even matter whether the original plan was followed or not, even if things get out of control, simple back up plans would cheer us up. No matter what, you are not alone in this world :). Friends are what keep us accompany, and truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave even, and of course impossible to forget.

My friends will be what I miss the most when I'm off to UK for my degree studies. Many might have wondered, why am I, an average girl, stays single for so long? The thing is, single is not a status, and you don't need a boyfriend or girlfriend to spice things up in your life, oh well you may say that I would eventually need one in the future, but now? In my current state? I'm only barely twenty years old, and still studying, not even working yet to support myself, and there's still so much more to life!

Oh let me add, friends are forever, if they make it into your future, there's always a reason for it so hold on to your friends and never let go, second chance doesn't come often :), and if those friends never make it to your future, what can I say? At least they left a footstep in our memories :), something for us to ponder on and reminisces in. Therefore, I would always put family and friends on top of my list :). Just some food for thought anyway before I begin another blog entry after a few weeks of absence :).

It doesn't matter what your definition of friends are, it could be..

your loving and blur brother :),

your best friend forever, or most commonly known as BFF :),

people you get along with despite having contrasting personalities,

people you crossed path with from different walks of life,

and precious people who will always be on your mind.

See, friendship has a very wide scope of definition, it's really unlike any other relationship, particularly the boy-girl relationship, you know what I mean. Friendship is forever :).

So ya, just a food for thought.

Penang with law-lipops

Guess where I spent my last weekend :) PENANG YO!

Party rock is in the house tonight (:, everybody just have a good time!

Haha, I don't know why we chose that particular day to have a road trip to Penang, the 4th of June. It was a public holiday, a school holiday and also my semester break. What are the odds right lol? On the day itself, Zhe & Jon fetched me and then we headed to Kelana LRT to board the LRT to the Taman Jaya Station to meet James. James drove us to campus to meet up with the rest, by 8.30am, we started our journey.

Many things happened throughout this trip and not all were really nice to say it here XD So ya, what happened in Penang stays in Penang. It was a pure food-booze-slacking and time wasting trip.

DAY ONE

We stopped in Ipoh for Hor Fun Soup and the White Coffee. Went to both Nam Heong and Sun Yuan Foong :). I'm sure you have heard of these two shops as they were kind of like the trademark of Ipoh. We didn't take pictures of the food though.

Then, we continued our journey to Penang, reached there and checked in to our dodgy and worthless hotel, thank God it was clean, that's really all I'm asking for lol. We had our dinner in Gurney Drive (: Dinner consisted of Char Kuey Teow, Fried Chicken Skins, Oyster Omelette, Pasembur, Chendol and Popiah. In my opinion, the Fried Chicken Skins triumphed among the bunch (: The rest were edible and average :).

After dinner, we hung around in Gurney Plaza and then headed back to the hotel for booze night. The guys really bought liquor to do their own mixing in the room, so ya I think the story for that night shall stop here (:

DAY TWO

Breakfast was provided in the hotel, so we ate in the hotel, and then headed off to Lorong Selamat for round two. Char Kuey Teow by the sisters duo was where we were headed. Waited for a bit, and honestly? I don't see anything special bout their Char Keuy Teow. To me, it's just well... a plate of Char Kuey Teow. Oh well, it's just an opinion anyway :)

After Char Kuey Teow, then it was Chendul time, the Penang Road Famous Chendul. I'm not a big fan of Chendul. therefore I didn't try. However, it looks nice and my mates enjoyed the Chendul a lot! The sun was burning and we decided to hang around in Queensbay Mall after Chendul.

Did some shopping and raid Austin Chase + Chatime :). The highlight of the day happened after Queensbay Mall :D We went to the Tanjung Bungah Beach and spammed Rach's camera. Enough said, a lot of pictures were taken :D. There were not many with me inside though :P Wasn't in the mood to camwhore like REALLY REALLY A LOT!

After the beach, it was time for NASI KANDAR LINE CLEAR!

This place is famous for their nasi kandar, but I don't like to eat there. I can never dine in a place this dirty, I lose my appetite instantly. Not even if they are so nice and well- known. I still prefer Original Kayu Nasi Kandar ;).

Then it was BOOOZE NIGHT AGAIN! I can't stop emphasizing on how funny that night was. The way Amar acted just to make everyone drink XD.

DAY THREE (LAST DAY!)

Breakfast in hotel then BOOOOOOO OFF WE WENT TO THE LAKSA IN PASAR AIR ITAM :). DAMN A LOT OF PEOPLE WEH! Ok la cut the crap, I still prefer my mum's laksa lol. Now you know why I can never be a food critics, because I'm TOO PICKY AND I CRITICIZE too much :). Therefore I shall not emphasize too much on the food yo!

Walked around for a bit and sent Lena off at the airport before leaving Penang :). Had our lunch in Onn Kee Beansprout Chicken Rice in Ipoh. It was like a meal from heaven! I think we were too hungry ba hahaha! Wanted to have the Tau Fu Fah from Funny Mountain but it was sold out :( SAD!

Off we went to buy gifts from the biscuit shop named Sin Eng Heong in Ipoh and then we left :). It was a long journey way home, the guys made a stop at my humble abode. The first thing Josh did in my house was checking into Foursquare while the rest were dying to pee lol. Oh ya, and we kinda camwhored for a bit :P

Guys, thank you so much for year one and also everything, I'll miss you guys soo sooo much :'). See you guys soon!

That's all for my Penang trip! I shall plan my holiday wisely now.

Sky Bar, Traders Hotel KL

I must say, I'm surprised the blogging mood is back in such a short time. Probably because I met my bestie, May today (: Words can't describe how much I've missed her and now that she's back, we started off slow and spent the whole day together. Oh well, since I've just started back on blogging, I shall use pictures as the foundation of this post :).

Brunch : Restaurant Jin Xuan HK Dim Sum

I picked May up from her house at around 11.30am and then we headed to our first stop, the Damansara Jaya branch :P. She had all the prawn dimsum while I had the fried loh mai rice that I've been craving since last night. We had so much to catch up on, it felt like I've never been this talkative since ages ago. No pictures were taken during brunch, because let's face it, this particular restaurant has been blogged to death with positive reviews, they need no introduction here anymore. PLUS, May and I didn't bring any camera, we were relying on my phone to take good pics for Sky Bar during tea time LOL!

It was like any other working days, KL was congested to the max, cars were sluggish on Jalan Kuching, ya I took the long route to KLCC lol and I don't know why. Jammed for an hour and finally reached KLCC. I was thinking the best route to Sky Bar is to park at KLCC and get to Traders Hotel via the open air KLCC park. You got it right, we walked under the hot burning sun towards Traders Hotel, and by the time we got there, clothes were kinda wet lol.

Right, cut the crap :). So, right on the 33rd floor of Traders Hotel, lies this relaxing jewel of the hotel.

Sky Bar.

It does not just have areas for guests to dine and drink, it also has a clear swimming pool :)

Awesome ain't it? I saw some 'ang moh' dove in and swam laps while I was chilling with May from our seats. You know what, we were the only Chinese there, the rest were 'ang moh' lol.

Ain't both of us a lucky pair? On a day without booking, not only we got a good table, they are also having a promotion titled 'For Her' (:, it features a selection of any 2 cocktails for only RM48++ from any of the five cocktails listed on the flyer which can be seen on every tables.

The rest of the day were spent window-shopping in KLCC and then raiding the SS2 night market for food and drinks (: Had so much fun doing everything with May, can't wait to hang out with her again.

On the other hand, Sky Bar is a really relaxing bar, I don't mind going there again.

Sorry for the long hiatus peeps, I've absolutely no idea when I'm going to update a proper post on this precious blog of mine. Finals was sucking the life outta me, that explains the long hiatus :S Today marks the first day of my holiday. I spent it doing LAC duty in Taylor's. What can I say, I have Taylor's phobia now.

Dear bloggy, I've so much to update you on, but words can't really fit everything into one post for what happened in the past month. Too much has happened, be it good or bad. More is gonna come for the next few months. Hopefully the big guy up there will bring me through everything for I know and I believe :).

Although I wasn't actively blogging for the past month, I have been updating myself a lot on my Twitter (twitter.com/jolyn91) and my instagram (jolyn91). Until I can collect my thoughts and find my inner peace again, the quality of my posts will remain at this standard, saddenng huh :S?

I've been sick for 8 days now, since last Sunday. It's been sorethroat-flu-fever-flu-cough. Mind you, I am having a really bad flu that my mind can't concerntrate on anything else. I tried to go and discuss exam-related stuffs with my friends, but I think I'm a nuisance to them. That's because all the time I'm there, I'm busy dealing with my annoying and torturing nose. FML seriously, I need a new nose, a healthy one. I know I shouldn't have gone out to crowded places and that only will make me sicker, but I can't help it, I'm lacking human interactions. I miss my law mates, and my other friends :(.

Exam is like 2.5 weeks away, and here I am, getting sicker and sicker. I don't know I'm getting sicker or getting well, I'm always getting false hope. Once I wake up in the morning, thinking ya, nose clear phlegm gone, then I went and continue with my routine, boom bad flu and cough all come back to me. Gosh, I need to get well already :(. It's not that I haven't realised this before, but now it's crystal clear to me that, health is really important, more important than anything else. Once I got sick, nothing else seems relevant, all I wanna do is crash and shut down. I can't do anything else, even being myself took some effort, yes I'm that tired and jaded. I can't taste anything, not even savoury food. All that's left on my tongue is the mixture of medications aftertaste. I hate those taste :(. Not even a packet of Hacks could make those taste go away.

Tired of being sick, frustrated of the annoying nose, I want nothing else but to be healthy again, I need my healthy engine back, and oh god I hope you are listening to my prayers, I want colours back to my face too. I've been looking like a ghost for 8 days. Can you hear me? A prayer from a non believer. I just want to get well, nobody deserves to be sick, yes nobody. I'm pathetic I know.

P.S I have a song that cheers me up too when I'm sick.

Jun's farewell + Je's 24th @ Zouk KL

Saturday night was the second night in a row that I stayed up late to go out eversince my healthy lifestyle commenced. It was a night out at Zouk KL with my brothers, cousins and also friends. Why did I go to a club when exam is so near? Shouldn't I be cramming at home? I know these questions are making me guilty too, but my brother is flying off next Tuesday for a job training in Luxembourg, I won't be seeing him for a while, plus this is the first time I will be hanging out and just having fun with so many people that I love and related to.

It's all farmiliar and at the same time comforting :). I love being in my comfort zone.

It was a legendary night in Zouk, glad Jun had fun during his farewell and god knows where they went and what they did post-Zouk. Not forgetting that, happy birthday to Je and also to those having hangover or had hangover, get well soon! I personally am struck down with fever and sore throat. All my long lost friends a.k.a sicknesses had somehow found their way towards me once again. I must get well soon because if I don't do well for exams, somehow or somewhat the blames would be put on the sickness itself and it's so totally UNCOOL ):

An evening of live jazz with the Patrick Terbrack Quartet @ No Black Tie

I have a weakness for good music and of course, great company. My classmates and I have been talking about attending a live jazz performance for a while, since even before our mock exams. Finally, one of us, the kind Grace, got around to checking the website out and after much discussion, we booked a table for yesterday night, the 22nd of April 2011, to watch the Patrick Terbrack Quartet play in No Black Tie.

Notice the white shirt drummer? I think it's quite impressive because he's a JAZZ drummer and he's only 18!

sax & trumbone duo, complement each other so well that my jaw dropped.

It was a very impressive and fantastic performance I must say.

They started at sharp 10.30pm and I think it went on until 1am++. I left at 1am though. Their performances were very relaxing and carefree, they totally know their stuffs! I was blown away by their creativity with the sax, trumbone, drums, bass and of course piano :). I didn't enjoy myself very much because I was struck with tummy problem around 11pm :(. It's like I only heard like 20 minutes of their performances and then booom! I was in pain until 1am++. Kind of it's my own fault la, shouldn't have drank the alcohol before taking my dinner, but they serve my dinner so late lah :(. I was thirsty, how was I supposed to know a sip of tequila would do that to my poor tummy?

Okok, enough of the whiny stuffs, back to the awesome quartet. It was held at No Black Tie, a small double storey kind of house on Jalan Mesui, located in the hearts of KL I shall say. Inside, it's quite small and it could accommodate up to 40 pax I think. I also think that jazz is not everyone's cup of tea, that night itself, the crowds consist of mostly classy caucasians and chinese.

We were the odd one out, we looked like 14 lost law students found ourselves trapped in a jazz concert XD.

So people, if you have a thing for Jazz, or you would just like a change of environment, or just wanna try something new, maybe can head on to www.noblacktie.com.my to check out their events date. It's not a bad choice to choose to spend an evening listening to live jazz you know :). They are really awesome at what they do, however cover charges may differ and time of the performance varies.

For the one we went, it was RM30 per person for the cover charge and the food & beverages were a bit expensive. However, you can opt to just order a drinks there and listen to jazz all night then head out to the mamak for food after the performance XD.

Premiere Screening of Fairly Legal @ Ecoba

I was one of the ten lucky winners for the premiere screening of 'Fairly Legal', an english legal series by the Diva Universal and the MSN Entertainment Malaysia. I was allowed to bring a friend with me, so I decided to bring Felicia with me :), always my kaki hang out XD.

This is the poster for the series.

"Fairly Legal" is a television series starring Sarah Shahi, Michael Trucco, Baron Vaughn, and Virginia Williams. Basically this series is about Kate Reed (a really attractive woman) changes her profession from lawyer to mediator and works at the San Francisco law firm her father started. Well, to know more, do tune on Ch702 to watch the premiere show at 9pm on May 5 (Thursday)!

Oh guess what, we bumped into Caroline Ng there :), was great meeting her for the first time. The world is such a small place really, I just commented on her pan mee post like a few days ago, and then there i met her for the first time. She's a really sweet girl I must say.

The emcee of the night was Serena C, and the screening kind of started late. I didn't take many pictures, mostly was Felicia with her compact camera and Caroline with her fancy DSLR :P. She was invited by Kelvin Tan. Then, later their friends, whom I only recognized one of them as Rebecca Saw came and join us.

Oh well, not much food were served. We only got to have the chips, breadsticks and also some gourmet finger food.

Drinks were free flow though, only three choices, beer/wine/orange cordial. Needless to say, I drank orange cordial LOL.

The event was ok la, kind of crappy la because NO DINNER :(. SAD RIGHT. but ok la, the show kind of nice la, I left at 9pm sharp though lol. Ok la, time to steal some pictures from Caroline's blog LOL, because I didn't take any :(

and I'm balding I think, hair loss speed = hair growth speed. Thus, I still have lots of hair but top of my head thinning d, gahhh stress!

am really tired of all these :(. it's holiday now. everyday same routine. sigh. been doing lots of thinking. came to no end. sigh what wrong with me?

Nevermind, anyway had a great day today :). I went for a massage this morning and then gym after that. I won't forget what my instructor said during that 1 hour session.

wahlao, really lor -.-, everyone pedalled til breathing like dogs like that, but it was worth it! I rushed home after gym to bath and get ready for P to come pick me up.

Oh did I mention I FREAKING SAW Asha Gill in KLCC?! Within distance only, she's even prettier in person! Apparently V knows her, so V walked up to her and chatted with her for a while. I was with V, that was how close we were standing! Asha Gill looked elegant :). After that, we were also planning to try and go for the concert in front Philharmonic. It's a two days concert, actually nothing much, there were Wondergirls and Hoobastanks yesterday though, today just Mizz Nina and Colby O'Donis. So ya, after our movie, we were all starved to the core! Decided to follow E's idea and have dinner in Nando's :). First time eating in Nando's! Excited much. Our food arrived fast EXCEPT for P's. He waited for like about an hour for his Chicken Espetada. We complained to the manager, but he couldn't do much as well because the waiter keyed in later -_-' Really don't know how they train themselves to deal with crowded situation, so freaking messed up! Think am not going back to the Nando's in KLCC anymore.

We had our dinner and paid then we tried to go for the concert. Epic PHAIL anyway. Cannot enter from anywhere. I think they closed up the entrance. So we stood outside and watch the screen for a while. Then P came up with ideas of where to go, either Bintang Walk, Changkat or Look Out Point. We agreed on Look Out Point, so off we went to Look Out Point. The journey wasn't that long surprisingly, just a bit congested. Walked for a bit and settled down in Cloud Nine Restaurant.

P and R shared a grape & mint flavoured shisha. The rest of us just sat there and chit chat. I really had a great time sitting there just not thinking at all, and crapping with my friends. Really needed time off for things like that. That's how I remind myself that how simple things are still able to create happiness. Just chillin around, not doing anything, not thinking anything. If it was the me few years back, I wouldn't make spontaneous decision like that to just go to places like that at night. Hell no, I think I would have been a good girl, abide by the family curfew rules and stayed home. I'm glad I chose to go out tonight :).

Hmm, I's gots a flat tyre ze other day, and then all ze three men in my house were not available. I was feeling rather depressed and helpless, why you asked? I was supposed to let Yan and Fern ambush my car so that we can head to SS2 night market to chill :(. Then I just had to get a flat tyre on LDP :(, am always getting a flat tyre on the highway. The last time I got it, I drove all the way to SS15 and had 4 guys from PE1 to help me change the tyre, couldn't change it and had to walk all the way to the workshop to seek a mechanic.

*Sigh* This time, the tyre is brand new :( Then it just gone flat two days later :(. I was feeling so helpless, so I decided to just park under the mango tree in front of Yan's house and off we went to SS2 night market, in Fern's car. Oh well, since can't be helped, might as well go chill first only worry right? XD

Lepak in the night market from 7pm to 9pm. The longest time I ever spent in the night market, but it didn't matter :). This is the last night market session with Yan before she flies off this Sunday, gonna miss her a lot. We went to eat Lok-lok, and all the street snacks. I helped mum to buy the ingredients that she asked and then I decided to try phoning my brother, but to no avail he wasn't available, then I remember that he should be in gym because it was 8pm. Oh well, thank God, Yan's dad was available. Uncle was efficient :D! and Fern drove her car and parked RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the road haha! It was so that the headlights could shine straight at my deflated tyre :D. Uncle took about 20-30 minutes to change the flat tyre in the dark, VERY EEFICIENT!

I was so touched and grateful towards the three of them. Really don't know how to thank them, if it weren't for them, I would have been so lost :(. Anyway tyre's changed to the spare ones, and then the next day I drove to Sg. Buloh to change to a brand new one :D. No more bald tyres :)!

Oh ya, after the whole tyre changing thing, my brother called back and I was right, he was in gym. I felt so grown up hehe, because after everything was solved, I got to inform the men in my house that I'm fine and alright :D!

Malaysian Bar and college seal pact

LEGAL aid usually comes at a high price from private firms and most underprivileged people cannot afford such services, but Taylor’s College intends to change that by launching its first Pro Bono legal aid centre in Malaysia.

It is the first of its kind to be launched by a private university in Malaysia and is now operational at Taylor’s University’s Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya.

The Taylor’s Legal Aid Centre was officially launched by Malaysian Bar President, Ragunath Kesavan and Taylor’s University Vice Chancellor and President, Prof Datuk Dr Hassan Said.

During the launch , a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bar Council Legal Aid Centre and Taylor’s University where the Bar Council Legal Aid Centre (Kuala Lumpur) will support Taylor’s Legal Aid Centre by providing lawyers and chambering students to supervise and vet the legal advice delivered at the centre.

It will be fully operational by the end of March 2011 and will be under the supervision of Taylor’s Law School dean Dr Rajeswari Kanniah.

Its primary target will be the residents of Subang Jaya and Sunway, as they are the people who live within the vicinity of the campus. However, people from other areas are also welcome to seek legal advice.Prof Hassan commended the law students for their effort and time in establishing the centre. He said Dr Kanniah had also provided an avenue for the law students to apply their textbook learning to real life legal problems, while at the same time performing a much needed community service.

,“We want to instil a sense of responsibility among our students towards the community while emphasising that the legal profession is a noble one which upholds justice for the people, especially those from the lower income group who are not able to seek legal redress.

“They will be better prepared with the theory and practical aspects of law while ensuring they become industry-ready graduates and stand out in the industry well ahead of other fresh graduates,” added Prof Hassan.

“The launch of the centre in collaboration with the Bar Council, is an important step towards our objective to ensure that justice remains within reach for all. This is an important corporate social responsibility (CSR) project that would have a huge impact and benefit the students, staff and surrounding communities,” he said.

The scope of subjects handled by the centre is limited to matters covered under the Consumer Protection Act, landlord and tenancy matters, financial matters such as banking and insurance, family law matters and employment matters. The law students who attend to clients will research the legal problems and prepare the legal advice with help from the Bar Council’s legal aid centre before it is delivered to the client.

Legal assistance provided by the centre is limited to advice and does not cover legal representation in courts or tribunals.

wondering what's my title about? Oh wells, CCC stands for Coffee Chemistry Cafe and TPKK stand for Tin Pan Kor Kor a.k.a Hong Kong dessert. These two places are both in Kota Damansara :). Where to chill on a hot Saturday afternoon? Well, I met up with some bloggers right after my gym session for tea time :). I've blogged about CCC before and it was a review slightly to the negative part :P. As for TPKK, it was my first time there :). Didn't really know what to expect :)

This is my third time in CCC, so I'll just throw all the pictures in, including from my second visit hehe.

As for taste-wise, apparently for the pasta it's too oily, I guess it's the sauces problem :P. I was never a fan of CCC's coffee, but they seemed to enjoy themselves very much with the coffee :). The sandwich wrap looked good too. As for the Shepherd Pie, to me it's 'yat pek yeh', means it's one lump of thing, I just can't buy the look of it. Apparently the fried rice is not bad too :). So ya, it's mixed review here, it really depends on what you order :).

After that, the gang and I walked to the TPKK for dessert :P. It wasn't that far from CCC although it was a hot weather, but oh well, don't be a bum! Walking is a very good exercise yo :D!

Honeymoon have better durian pancake hahaha. Well, TPKK is right opposite Snowflakes and Honeymoon is within sight from TPKK. I thought TPKK would be a new competition towards those two, guess not! Honeymoon still WIN XD.

It's been yet another hectic week, pardon me dear readers (IF there's anyone who reads my blog) for the bitchy and angry post before this, I just couldn't take it anymore and I very much regretted posting that up, but just like a chinese saying : " The water splashed, you can't take it back." So ya, I ain't deleting that post, my apologies. Despite all that flaws in a person, a person still has his/her pride, just gotta let it be :).

Oh well, this week has been all about law school, spending time with my books, gym and family, not forgetting a very good friend of mine, Miss Ai Yan who is leaving soon to India to pursue her studies :(. Gonna miss those pasar malam sessions with her, looking for purses, buying apam balik, kuih, and not forgetting those lok-lok moments!

Anyway come back to talking bout today :). After GPL in the morning, impulsively I just went and chat with Rachel, decided to go out for breakfast and lunch :). So, off we went, gang included --> Me (driver), Jack, Rachel and Grace.

wanted to head back to campus after that to attend the Law Society's election, was so excited because all our close friends are running for it. Just can't bear the idea of not seeing any of them not in it :). 'Smart ass' me went and took the Sri KL road back to campus, got caught in the stupid jam for an hour+ OMG. Met with the jam created by the school! Ended up in campus only around 2pm :( By then the election was over and done with. However, I'm happy that some of them got what their wanted, I truly am :).

For breakfast, I decided to bring them to Restoran Silva's because none of them tried it before, that used to be PE1 (my A-level's class) lunch spot :(. Was craving for some tom yum maggi anyway, so we headed there. However, they ran out of tom yum :(, ended up getting my dosage of caffeine only. Rachel ordered her roti canai, Grace had her Teh Si and Jack had their maggi goreng for breakfast. OH YA, SOME DRAMA HAPPENED OVER THERE. The 'ah neh' who took our orders, somehow kept looking for reasons to come up and stand beside Rachel! That's because he could get a perfect view of Rachel's 'voluptous' figure, I feel so pissed for her :(. We were talking bout it for so long because we still feel pretty funny by that incident. After that, Rachel kept pulling her shirt up already XD.

Since I didn't get my tom yum, I decided to get some 'Ham Chin Peng' a.k.a Fried Bun :). Where better but 'I Love Yoo!' right :)? We were happy people hahaha. Rachel and Grace got their usual porridge :D, while I had some 'Ham Chin Peng' :D. I was talking bout 'Ham Chin Peng' with Jack last night, he totally cracked me up by raising the Chin Peng joke. LOL, that's because in Form 5, we learnt that there was a communist leader named CHIN PENG. XD.

Headed over to Whisk for some macaroons after that :). Three of them! TOTAL SWEET TOOTH I TELL YOU! Rachel bought 10 macaroons and they ate them all! I can't take sweet stuffs so I just sat and watch while holding my LEGENDARY LAYS STAX (Sour Cream and Onions), yep that's how I like my Lays Stax XD.

Sometimes, I think it's not really sometimes, I think it's MOST of the time, that certain someone annoys me so much. Why the hell do you care to know bout everything? When people wants you to know, they will let you know, you don't have to go around digging gossips. Have some limit please, there's a line to everything, you don't have to go around digging about people's lives when it doesn't even concern you.

Oh, another one. Is there a requirement somewhere in that person's handbook to be such a insensitive person and a show off? We all know how well you did, and you don't have to put up a mask, we know what you are like underneath, just stop acting all fake in front of me and then back stab me, saying I'm the fake one. Come on, let's face it, at least I show it when I clearly don't fancy you. I don't go all smiley smiley and polish your shoes.

Where are all your manners? All those habits, we are your friends that's why we never tell you. Clearly you should know not to shake your legs and clear your throat every 2-3 minutes right? Do you have to clear your nose every 5 minutes as well? In the middle of the lecture seriously?!

I'm not kidding when I say that I learnt to be more patient and have higher tolerance now. Seriously? calling me fake when you are the fake ones?! That totally set off the button already, I won't listen to your nonsense anymore. One day I hope you stop wondering why people who used to care bout you no longer care bout you, that's because you made them this way.

Black Swan

When a film won an Oscar, people would be like 'Hey! Now that's something worth watching!' and then all would be rushing to the nearby theatres to watch it :) I did the same too!

I gotta say that I'm really impressed with actors and actresses who are dedicated to their work. They are willing to do anything for the role they are portraying in the movies that they get paid for. Actors like Christian Bale who is willing to get stick thin for 'The Machinist' , America Ferrera who portray herself as an ugly overweight girl in 'Ugly Betty' and now Natalie Portman who starved herself to gain the ballerine figure and of course learnt Ballet before she acts in 'Black Swan'.

Mind you, she's really a dedicated and good actress. At this time, the theatre has 3 movies which has her as one of the actresses. Oh well, the films are 'Black Swan', 'No Strings Attached' and 'Your Highness'. In my opinion, she is a really good actress. I mean for me, I really wouldn't starve myself to be so thin like her and be so dedicated in learning ballet for that movie, oh the sacrifice one would make aye?

This is a disturbing and mind haunting movie, not only does it take your breath away, it leaves a vivid memory in your brain, seriously, take my word for it. I watched this movie twice, first time uncut and second time cut version in the theatre :). It's like when I watch it again in the theatre for the second time, kudos to Portman's performance. I understand and discover more stuffs :). I think I better stop getting all excited about this show.

Okay, let me just make things clear, I'm not a movie critic nor am I a F&B critic, I'm just an ordinary girl who has been blogging about law school a lot recently :(. Oh wells, it's just that I've seen so many movies and I didn't share what I think about them, it's really a bit wasted XD.

I can't seem to find the blogging mojo in me lately, with all these law school stuffs and accommodations. I'm really getting anxious already, all the year twos have applied for their accommodation and flight tickets, I'm still waiting to apply for accommodation, and seems like my RISISWEB is different from the year twos, so ya there's nothing to do except to wait for the visiting professor to be here on the 22nd of March, I have tonnes of questions to ask her :(. If all is well, with the accommodation and also I passed my first year, I'll be taking the 2am flight preferably on the 25th of September :), Emirates of course!

Where is the BLOGGING MOJO in me? I've been so stressed up lately that there's nothing to do but intense yoga and feasting!

Legal Aid Centre Launch @Taylor's Lakeside Campus

As mentioned in my previous post, LAC has finally launched yesterday!

There were the VIPs and the medias.

VIPs included Hannah Yeoh, the president of the Malaysia Bar Council etc. The media that were present included Berita Harian and Sin Chew Daily. Anyway the launch was a success, and the VIPs went for lunch at Truffles while we, the committee members of LAC got our lunch money to eat elsewhere XD. Pictures time!

Whoa, I've exactly not been blogging for an entire week :D That's a new record :) Oh well, I've just been really busy with law school. Actually, still am quite busy, what's with all the 3 assignments deadlines one after another, and also there's the Legal Aid Centre launching tomorrow, not forgetting the ongoing Law Speakers Series 2011 which happens almost every week. Ah, law doesn't rest anyway :).

Oh right, let me show you a brief insight of what has been happening with my life alright?

There was the talk on 'Marketing for Young Lawyers'

Basically, we were enlightened with how we should make ourselves marketable and employable in the future when we came into practice :)

Then, the day of the 'Legal Aid Training' came.

Then, finally the second last moot for October 2010 intake :).

The most unforgettable moot, mark my word, I really learned a lot from this moot. It was worth watching, I'm glad I didn't omit from watching it.

Then there was the talk on 'International Criminal Court'. No pictures were snapped because I was so engrossed in the talk that I totally forgotten to snap a photo of Dr. Siva. An actress played the role of a Bosnian victim and portrayed to us her experience while being held captive during war crimes. It was a really heart wrenching session, and I was really into it. Then BAM! We were told that she was acting only. Nonetheless, whatever she portrayed was nothing but the truth. It was indeed very impressive.

Finally, the day of the launch of Legal Aid Centre (LAC) at Taylor's Lakeside Campus is tomorrow, the 8th of March 2011 :) The day where all the legal aid student volunteers has been waiting for :) Today, five of us, the committee members for Law Community Service Club went for the soft launch of LAC, and gotten a sneak peak of the centre, it was indeed very nice :)

This stress is unbearable, too overwhelming.

I have too many things on my mind, too many things can't be said, feel like I need more time to be doing more things. Need to study harder and achieve my goal.

Recently I been keeping myself very busy for god-knows-why, I think the purpose of me doing that is to destress and to lighten my mood up, because I'm not one to give up and quit, I've come this far, won't gonna let all these pessimism and negativity to take over me and bring me down.

I want to soar higher and surpass my own limit, I really want to. Therefore, I shall stop being just all talk, time to act. Pain is a sign to wake up :)

To all you out there who put up with my swinging mood and all my friends who are just there when I need them the most, thank you.

It has been a busy week for me, and before I know it, it's FLYDAY again tomorrow. That's really quick, today is also the last day of CNY a.k.a Chap Goh Meh. For Chinese, things we do today is hang out with our close relatives/family/friends, have a romantic dinner with loved ones etc. However, I did not do any of those today, haha my family don't really celebrate Chap Goh Meh. Do you know that Chap Goh Meh is also Valentines Day on the Chinese calendar? So, today is also another day for couples to celebrate their love hahaha. As for the singles, some will go to the lake and throw oranges, that's because there is an ancient belief which says that by throwing oranges into sea, one would find a good boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife.

As it comes to this, I can't help but remember some jokes my friends made, like 'I'm gonna throw a pomelo!' or 'I'm gonna throw a watermelon!'.. I was like 'WHY?'.. The answer was bigger fruit, more chance and greater luck. Oh the greed HAHAHA. Many things happened over Valentines day and CNY for people around me. As for me, it is still the same, I'm still me, the same old Jolyn who is blessed with a good life. For this Chinese New Year, I've made a resolution to stay positive and kick the pessimistism away. I mean, life's good when I have a family that I care about, a bunch of great friends, a wonderful university and am also studying the kickass subject. Somehow, when I think like that, everything else just didn't matter anymore. Law school has been treating me fairly good, it is stressful sometimes, but if I were to choose again, it would still be law school, no regrets.

Valentines was just another Monday to me, no celebrations no romance. However, I have a bunch of friends who are single just like me :D! Therefore, we planned something on the night itself. We went to The Library @Curve. There were just seven of us, playing cards, talking and drinking. I had beers and cocktails, never liked alcohol, because I get red easily, same as my mum :(.

One of my CNY resolution is to be fit again and stop my unhealthy lifestyle, so far I'm working towards it :) I hope that my determination will keep me going :D

As for people who got together during Valentines day, congratulation to you both, be cute together forever :D While in the not so pretty picture, for those who splitted up during Valentines day, fret not, you just haven't met the one yet :D If the two cases I mentioned before don't apply to you ladies, then head on down to Taman Jaya lake now to throw oranges, maybe some lucky fella will pick up your oranges ;). As for the guys, good luck in picking the oranges, it's all fate :D

CNY house hopping with the law mates lor dang meh?

Yesterday was another fulfilling day, it's been a while since I had a fulfilling day, oh well, not since CNY.

I always allow myself to have either morning/afternoon/evening free so that I could just chill, but yesterday I was out from morning til night. Oh well, it was fun to do that once in a while :), but not all the time, pocket bleeding yo! So ya, just a brief summary of what I did yesterday. I was kind of down since I forgone the Friday night BBQ party with law mates in Lakeside because I had no transport, I was so miserable bout it I just stayed in and snuggled on the couch while watching Starworld, LIFELESS ME.

Oh right, yesterday morning I went for a beauty treatment in the morning because my skin was tortured from the Taiwan trip, it was yelling for help! So yea, after the treatment, I had 30 minutes to get to Lakeside to meet up with the CNY house hopping gang, we were gonna hop 3-4 houses. So I was like, never mind I shall go bath and meet them up, MALAYSIAN TIMING. Told Kelly bout me being late, and she was like ok, coz they were all late as well, PHEW. I went to The Curve to get tickets for last night because I had a pact with Min :). We're gonna accompany each other every Saturday night (if we can) until I fly off.

We watched 'I LOVE HK'! It was not really funny but it has moral values, really, never forget your roots, I would never ever forget my root no matter where I go too :).

So, yesterday's house hopping started from Joshua's 'Penthouse' in Subang Height, Elizabeth's 'Mansion' in Puchong and then ended with watching Junior Masterchef Australia in Jonathan's cozy crib :D. Had fun with the guys just sitting around drinking shandy and watching TV. Unfortunately, I had to leave early because had plans with Min at night.

I used Google Map to get to Joshua's 'UNLISTED' house, seriously his house cannot be found on the map. Also, Google Map to get to Elizabeth's house. Phew, who said GPS is the best :P. Enough of the ranting, time for some pictures :D

The memories I wish I never had.

Taiwan, the six days there and what happened after, are the memories I wish I never had.

I really shouldn't grumble too much, and now I also got to know why some people die young, because they die out of disappointment, too disappointed, I think death will find me that way too.

You know why there are old folks. I don't mean to be offensive, and I'm not speaking in general, just a specific someone, but seriously sometimes they can be so narrow-minded. I'm really broken-hearted and feeling extremely sad. I'm still standing my ground and holding up, I totally lost my respect for this particular someone after this trip. It's ok to mess with me and think ill of me when all I did was care for her, but messing with my parents and stabbing them again and again, that's unacceptable, I'm feeling very disappointed in her, no matter how much I pat my heart to try and ease the pain, I still feel as if she is plunging a knife into my major points, can't take those abusive words thrown at my parents. I know she cannot see the look of hurt in both their eyes, but I can see it.

I'm just the kind of people, who just can't care less of what people think of me, life's too short to be worrying too much. However, I really cannot take it when I see everything so clearly from the side, the look of hurt my parents displayed again and again when they got stabbed by those words and actions. The moment those vulgars came out of her mouth, that's it for me, I drew my line, I lost my respect. There's nothing left.

We are both straightforward people, and we were two happy go lucky people. We were happy.

Don't judge me and don't say I'm wrong. At this point of the time, I have had enough of judgmental people in my life and judging done on me.

you know that emotion? that feeling you get when you are so touched, a mixture of emotions just come bursting out, that you don't know whether to laugh or cry, but you are just so touched. I experienced it today. My second brother and I, we aren't exactly the closest sibling ever. but you know what, something happened.

yes, this happened. He freaking gave me my FIRST red packet from him, and he said the most touching thing ever.

"nah, Ling, kor working already, so this is from kor to you, good luck for your studies."

Thank God I didn't cry. Not in my room, not at home, not outside in my car porch, not even when I'm in the car. Never. I'll keep this red packet forever.

lol, yes I've been watching 'Friends' when I'm not doing anything. The law classmates went to Red Box to celebrate Rachel's 21st birthday too! Oh well, that's not the point. This post will be about what I want to do after this super duper long cny holiday.

1. Complete all my assignments.

2. Study more.

3. Community Service Club projects and events.

4. Volunteer for Legal Aid Centre.

5. Must check Uni e-mail constantly for updates on how to apply for accommodation.

6. Also must constantly check flight ticket's price.

7. Then, it will be visa application time!

8. Spend more time with all my friends, must treasure all the time here.

9. Throw away the antisocial habit, open up!

10. Always wake up with a smile on the face, the world is a better place.

11. Stop eating so much!

12. Watch more horror movies, I think I should watch every horror movies in the theatre.

It's a girl thang!

Oh ya, it's that time of the year again, surprisingly as years goes by, I really stop feeling the excitement for Chinese New Year. I remember how I used to fuss all over Chinese New Year, the visitings, the extra red packet money, the food and most importantly then new clothes! Oh well, this time of the year, in 2011, I feel like this is just another festival, another day. To be honest, the only thing I am grateful about for this Chinese New Year, is that I won't have to go around visiting my relatives, because we used to just spend the whole day or sometimes 2 to 3 days just hanging out at their house doing nothing. Grown ups will catch up while we the younger ones will just be bored to death.

Ok, I'm not complaining, for this Chinese New Year would be the last Chinese New Year I would be spending here in KL with my family and friends, I would of course enjoy it to the fullest with them. The memory of last Chinese New Year still lingers on my mind, we spent the entire CNY in Japan, all that memories seem so far away now. Somehow, my family just got used to spending Chinese New Year abroad because it's a long holiday, we just can't bear the thought of doing nothing here in KL for a week other than visiting and stuffing ourselves with food. Oh ya, the jam on the expressway too. This year, since it's the last Chinese New Year here in KL, I'm spending it with my parents and granny in Taiwan. Just another chillin trip, to pass some time with my parents, because I'm pretty sure that they are gonna miss me a lot when I leave :).

I am not feeling the excitement though, I don't know why. I hardly ever feel excited for anything anymore, not even shopping and I'm a natural born shopaholic, almost like Rebecca Bloomwood from the Shopaholic series :/. When was the last time I feel excited again? I could hardly remember. Prolly when I was about to leave for my Europe trip I guess? or when I thought I was about to die up there at the podium during my moot? Oh wait, that wasn't excitement, that was fear and tonnes of butterflies in my stomach.

My CNY holiday started yesterday, the 29th :). I didn't really have any plans, because usually I reserve my weekends for my family, I'm a family person :P However, last night I got ditched by my parents, they sorta just decided to make their own plans and inform me last minute, oh well fine by me. I had a few choice though, to THE HILLS with my brother and a bunch of crazy people doing crazy things or just a girls night organized by me :D. Thus, I decided to ask Min out on a girly date, just doing the girl thing, chilling and talking. Last night was lots of talking, eating and camwhoring. We sort of just walked around, went for a movie and then chilled a bit, (Library, Sanctuary etc.) If not for our gender, we should really do it more often yo. By 12 o'clock, my phone was vibrating non-stop from all that calls already, first my mum and then hers. Seriously, sometimes it's just sucks being a girl you know. Curfews and rules. Anyway, we still reached home around 12.30-1 lol. Gah, and Min also had to report her safety to her other half when she's home too. Rules and regulations tsk tsk. Thank God I'm single :D.

and the judges have each deliberated and came to a conclusion that 'the appeal is allowed with cost'.

That was the happiest sentence of the day, from all the stressfulness and sleepless nights, and efforts spent on preparing the paperwork for the moot. Actually being the second team to moot, has more pros than cons. I get to be done with it BEFORE Chinese New Year holidays, and there was only one external judge instead of three. Anyway, it was still a scary experience for me, I paled just by watching the first team moot. The colour was totally drained from my face. I gotta say it was the first time ever that I get to watch a live moot, and it was the people that I know that were fighting against each other :). and again, congrats to the respondent's team, William and Zhe Xian for winning the moot :)

Words can't describe the 1 and a half hour I had to go through. The experience was still fresh on my mind. Also, it's only through mooting, I get to understand people's nature more, because it's a teamwork thing.

As I stood on the podium, the butterflies in my stomach just flied away, it was an enjoyable experience because suddenly, i just forgot about how nervous I was because I realised that.. 'THIS IS THE MOMENT, THE MOMENT WHERE ALL MY HARDWORK WILL BE PAID OFF' and I told myself, 'Oh my, it's time to show them what you got! The stage is yours and this is your moment!' I did stumble when the judges shot me with questions and stuffs, but I do remember what the seniors told me, yea it's like that because in real life, court hearing is way way tougher, we just gotta hang on to our principles and do not waiver. I did stoned and got so nervous to the point of stuttering, but it was ONE HELL LOT OF FUN!

AND WHEN EVERYTHING WAS OVER, ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS HUG EVERYONE.

We won the case :D and was the best team :')

The weekend of an incurable shopaholic.

She did not mean to walk to this part of the mall, all she wanted to do here today was to restock on the groceries as told by her granny, buy her favourite cake and then head home. Somehow, she finds herself walking towards this direction and then starts browsing through the many varieties of attires. Then, their eyes met. To be more accurate, she laid her eyes on it. It took her breath away instantly and she knew that she just had to have it. As she holds the dress in her hands with less than RM40 in her wallet, she mentally says "alright this will be the last dress I would ever purchase for this month, it's for Chinese New Year because I haven't shop for Chinese New Year yet, I'll need a decent dress for this occasion, at least for visiting relatives and to be presentable." She opens her mouth and asks the aunty "Hello aunty, how much is this?" There the aunty goes "Hey yo pretty! You have good taste! This is handmade and it's my own designed brand, I'll give you RM45! Very good bargain, better grab fast as when 4pm strikes, many girls would be in this bazaar shopping for CNY, you wouldn't want to miss out on this pretty dress! It suits you perfectly!" Trying to open her mouth but failed miserably, she just kept nodding and saying "Yes, aunty I agree with you." But, how? She didn't plan to shop today and she did not have enough cash!

Then, an idea strikes. "Oh hey, my house is like 5 minutes drive away, given that it's peak hour now, probably an additional 15 minutes due to the jam on Persiaran Surian. Alright, I shall drive home and get the cash!' Happy with her own thought, still holding the dress and trying to maintain a calm face, she tells the aunty "Aunty, I'll be right back." She walks away calmly at steady pace out of the aunty's sight, and then she fastens her pace towards basement and into her car. Inside her car, she mentally comforts herself "There there, you did well, now you just have to endure the 15-20 minutes jam that you have passed by twice this morning to get your cash at home :)."

After what seems like forever, she reaches her house, put down the groceries in the kitchen and then goes up into her room to find her cash. "AH, found you :)." She gets her money and heads back into her car, then she braves the jam once more through Persiaran Surian and goes back into the mall. She did not care about anything else, other than the dress being clearly crafted out in her mind, every single details of it. She successfully parks her car in a spot not too far from the escalator, then runs up into the part of the mall where the flea market is situated in. She calmly pace and browses through the whole flea market, as she did not want to appear to be too eager or desperate for that dress. Soon, the urge becomes a bit overwhelming and she finally walks back to the aunty's store. She hops towards the aunty and says "Hey aunty, I told you I would be back." Aunty responds by saying "Oh, you are back for the dress." She gets the dress and tries to visualize herself wearing it, while thinking ''Ah, just the way I like it.". "Ok, aunty I want this, oh wait *points towards another dress* this seems nice, how much is it?" The aunty smiles and says "Oh lady, this one is good, I have customers buying this dress in all four colours, but anyway this dress costs RM65." She beams at the sight of that white dress she just laid eyes on " Holy mama, isn't this dress even better than the one I am holding? Oh, there are fifteen days of Chinese New Year isn't it? I can have both! :D" She grabs the second dress and browses some more.

Highlight of the day. Her phone rings. "Oh, it's mum." So she answers it and mummy goes "Where are you dear?" She tells her mum that she's doing Chinese New Year shopping. Mummy laughs and then agrees to sponsor her Chinese New Year shopping. They hang up and she goes back to the aunty's store.

Unknowingly, she walks away with a bag filled with lovely dresses with a smile on her face.

1. Wake up, shower, eat, catch a breath.

2. Study, with the company of caffeine.

3. The most important food for survival during odd hours -> chips! *VERY IMPORTANT*

4. Stress? Ignore or go to bed.

5. De-stress? Flood Twitter/Facebook as I have no one to turn to.

6. Develop muscles from carrying all that heavy textbooks.

7. However, at the same time grow sideways from all the chips intake.

8. My iPad is my carry-on everywhere I go, it contains all my Law materials, and if it dies (like what happened today), I'm a total dumb dumbo.

Bless me, I'm such a healthy person I know.

I remember how I used to beg my brother to bring me to the theatre for horror movies, and that took a lot of effort because my brother thinks that horror movie should be watched at home, not the theatre, it's a waste of money *quote him*. He brought me anyway, because I disturbed him like crazy and all my friends were too chicken to go for those movies with me. Anyway, you know how when you watch a certain horror movie, you are supposed to be at cautious state and be all scared and hyped up? That was supposed to be my purpose for watching horror movies! Anyway it didn't happen with me last night!

After a long day at university and also some hardcore in the evening, I decided to reward myself so I went for a movie night with my movie buddies yesterday. I've heard all the negative reviews on Paranormal Activity 2, and having watched the first one, I really didn't expect much from it. However, you gotta continue what you started :) and this applies to ALL. We made our way to the theatre and sat down. I gotta say this, the movie was really dull in the beginning AS EXPECTED. I didn't know what was happening until like 20 minutes later since I was late for the movie. Anyway, the movie was filmed in the video camera recording style and so it felt kinda real. I really didn't know that the movie is fictional until I Google-d about it yesterday!

So, there were certain moments of the movie when it got kind of scary, we were supposed to scream and all, but thanks to my movie buddy, I ended up laughing. I mean how would you expect me to react huh? When I was startled, I heard him went 'OH FCUK! *laughs* That's why I laughed instead. Oh btw, there were a few moments when the movie kind of shocked me. Nonetheless, I feel that this movie explained and helped clarify about Paranormal Activity 1. It's not the best movie, actually both are kind of crappy (PA1 and PA2) but anyway it makes sense to me :).

My advice is, do not watch Paranormal Activity 2 if you have short attention span, you'd be fidgeting non-stop in your seat. That's because the film drags on and on and then BOOM, something happens. This movie really dns -_-"

OH WELL, if your heart can't take it, go watch some comedy or romcom. Oh watch Love & Other Drugs, maybe you would feel better watching love movies.

You know when something gets too addictive, and you have to have it every single day, it's time to find a solution = quit. There are many types of addiction out there, here I'm going to take the example of coffee because I myself is crazy about coffee, I can never ever quit drinking it.

Many of us won't admit to being addicted to coffee, but we have to have it everyday, or we simply find excuses to have it every now and then.

Reasons like..I'm tired so I have to drink coffee. I'm beat so a coffee would really helps. I can't open my eyes, need a stimulant, ahhh COFFEE! These are actually just pure excuses I came up with every now and then simply because I needed to drink it, it's like a necessity for me.

Alright, you might go to cafés like Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Gloria Jeans etc. for your cup of coffee, however traditional brands still have a strong grip on some of us.

Are you a fan of black coffee?

Maybe coffee with milk and whipped cream for some sweetness?

Or... are you hardcore drinker and love the pure taste of coffee?

so ya, now I'm currently in LT18, we are having presentations on Law Society, Mooting, Lexicon and Community Service Club. Oh god, we are the last to present, so bored now, but interesting talk by Law Society :D

I was invited by Fern to her b'day celebration at Mist Club last Saturday. I decided to join her despite after having went there with P and gang on Friday night. Oh, the contrast of both nights, nonetheless had lots of good time with my friends.

Top Three Places in 2010

I'm just gonna post about three of the few places I visited in the year 2010 to wrap up this year :). Actually, these three places hold significant memories and meanings that if I wasn't living in Malaysia, I would consider living in these areas :D. If not, I would really like to revisit these places one day :D

#1 - Singapore

You know, I really love Singapore. I could live there forever. I've been there for five times this year, entered Universal Studio once, then been to Orchard Road from one end to another end and then another end back to one end, went in to each and every mall on that particular road, window shopped and dreamt bout LV/Miu Miu over there.

No offense, mostly hear-say about the food that like 'which is famous and which is tasty' and then I went and tried all that was said, and none was as told to me. Nonetheless, I love the transport system and how organized everything is over there. The only food outlet I love there is the McD and the only beverage outlet I will never stop loving over there is Coffee Bean. Towards these two outlets, my marginal utility will only keep growing and the curve will only keep increasing until maximum and stays there :)

I don't really like the Universal Studio over there, too small compared to the one in other countries, nonetheless good job fitting it in on Sentosa Island. It's indeed a good investment. Another thing I really like about Singapore, is Sands at Marina Bay. I've been to the one in Macao and need I tell you that these two are identical :).

Entered the Sands Casino at Macao but I shall not dwell on the topic here since this is supposed to be about Singapore :). So ya, peeps I know basically thinks that Singapore is like my second home since I went there very often in 2010 despite being in home country, Malaysia.

There's this kind uncle who lives in Singapore too, and that's why we go there often. He would bring us around for good food and company. Where else to find such good guide right :)?

#2 - Japan

This is another place that I could live in forever besides #1, live off what? Sashimis and fast foods lol! It's been a while since my trip over there, went over there to spend Chinese New Year 2010 and it snowed in areas that weren't supposed to be snowing. Climatic drastic change aye? Anyway I got to experience life in areas like Shinjuku and Harajuku where those places were always depicted in moves to be very dangerous and a lot of mafias live there. Seriously, where else would people dress like cos playing if not in Japan?

You could go around carrying a fake katana and wear your Samurai attire and no one would look at you, no one. Or, you could dye your hair half pink half blue while wearing super mini skirt without leggings at 5 degree celsius and it's normal :)

I shall show you a better version of Universal Studio, one I would very much prefer to go back to in the future :)

Oh ya, shopped a lot too over there, WINDOW *COUGH* SHOPPED LOL. You know right, it's high cost living in Japan :(, can't really afford to buy everything there. Nevertheless, really want to have a second trip there in the future.

#3 - Redang Island

Of clear water, blue sky and perfect 'sot' company, what else could I demand for a perfect vacation? I spent about almost a week there with fellow PE1-ians as a graduation trip. All of us had fun over there. This place held significant memory and experience for all of us. It's a place we will all remember for a very long time :D

If you ever want to go there, stay at Laguna or Berjaya :D However, I would advice Laguna because I stayed there at that time and it's at the center of all the resorts. Meanwhile, Berjaya is at the far end :S.

This is a perfect island get away, mark my word.

Aloha peeps, I think guilt itself really helps alot, study wise! I've been procrastinating so much in the past week that I've actually felt so guilty this week! So the result is this week is going really well and need I say, productive :D. Monday started off with university's club activity, we broke the ice with the orphans and now they opened up to us :).

Tuesday was just another day, so I studied! Ya I actually studied, then watched the premiere screening of 'The Tourist' at night. I didn't really like the movie, too cheesy for me :). I wouldn't pay to watch it though :D

Ahhhh, today am hosting a pre- new year lunch gathering for PE1 :), can't wait really :D

my christmas in Singapore for 2010, my kind of almost-perfect getaway!

You can say that, me wanting to spend the last Christmas of my teenage year in Singapore with two friends and my brother, was a last minute plan :). However, it turned out to be really good and I had lots of fun, they were some of my favourite peeps because they were always up for anything :).

Orphanage visit to City Revival Church's Home for Boys

Hello there :), I'm back home from Singapore around 10pm last night :). It feels good to be home, although I really love to be at Singapore :). I stayed in Hotel 81, Bugis. It's a budget hotel and the room was really small, the bed was hard LOL. I had feet ache on Saturday, but body ache on Sunday LOL!

Oh well, I shall post about Singapore later, now it's time to talk about the first orphanage visit organized by the Community Service Club for Taylor's Law School that we did this morning :). Basically everyone gathered at Taylor's and we left to the orphanage by 9am. Reached there around 9.10am because it was just at USJ 5 :). There were 12 boys in the home, they were really friendly although some was a bit aggressive I shall say :S.

After that, the guys played futsal with the kids while we arranged the individual packets of sweets to be given to each kid :).

Back to the Home, distributed the packets of sweets to the kids, took some more pics (with Jame's DSLR) and then we all left around 11.10am because the kids had a schedule to follow.

Oh well, the visit was unexpectedly fun and relaxing, the kids were friendly and well-behaved :). Now that the ice was broken, I'm looking forward to more future visits to this home and the activities that the Community Service Club will hold for this City Revival Church's Home for Boys :), and maybe next time the girls from USJ11 will be able to make it :).

It's finally here, the three weeks break I mean. I don't actually have the mood to blog, but I figured I might as well blog since right now I'm just chilling and doing practically nothing, whoa I love this feeling! Just chilling and doing nothing, you ought to know law students don't get this chance often!

Basically, I'm just gonna outline things to achieve during this holiday :D maybe just a reminder to myself to not to go off track, you know, procrastination always get the better of me and I lose myself to the devil XD

Things to do during the 3 weeks break would be :

1. Study for Mock exams.

2. GPL Christmas Vacation work.

3. Group Reflection essay.

4. GPL Online test.

5. GPL Online Tutorial 4.

6. Read the Contract cases.

dear blog, it's almost the end of term one. which means i've already been in law school for ten weeks. i can't seem to describe or help you to understand how blessed i am to be in law school. how i've changed from the person i was, in a-levels, in high school. i am now the me in law school :). i've met lots of awesome and outstanding people in law school. well, not only law school, i found some kins from other schools here as well. this is the thing with university, you get to mix around with different people from different faculties, which branch out to many many different countries and cultures.

still remember in week one, how blessed i was to have found out that i have two other old friends from a-levels with me here in law school, and ever since then we have lunch and sit together in class. when you have a group, things go much more smoothly in law school. one have to learn about team work and cooperation, it's no more solo-ing and one man show, i may be one but i'm still alone, i cannot achieve everything.

and then, there were umpteen talks and workshops, i was exposed to many many different experience that i've never had, here in law school. we went to the parliament, we did presentation in formal clothes with judges sitting at the back, we went hiking together, we had multiple food trips, and we simply hang out and watch movies together. yes, and this was what i did with my law schoolmates. they simply love outdoor activities. there was also the colloquium on children's rights which very much opened up my eyes and made me go AHHH! and there was the UNICEF campaign which we from the community service club spent much time to promote on.

not to mention, i've met many new friends from different faculties, can't seem to tell you how nice they are. and now in week 10, i'm happy in a way that i can finally take a break from all this hectic schedule and also reflect on what had i become, what's my purpose and what i wanna achieve in 2011.

I just got back from Jayren's birthday dinner at Wong Kok, all the bloggers over there so semangat-ed to blog and take pics and stuffs, makes me suddenly feel like it's been a tad too long since I blog here. so yea, haven't really have the mood for anything, this week have been the worst week of all. things have been really hectic with uni, and I've been really busy with school stuff. worst of all, I've been sick all week :( all my money were spent on medicine. didn't really sleep well too, sigh.

I really hope things will get better though, today I have nose bleed marathon, about 5-6 times, really paise and embarassing.

oh ya, I got a Criminal Law question for my mooting next January, suckish much eh. I really hope mooting would be fun :D Next week will be the final week of term 1, also the busiest, there will be three session of tutorials, one assignment due, one presentation, and one more time of UNICEF campaigning for child abuse, I really need to buck up and hold on even though I'm a sick cat now :(

Blood sucker much, I'm bout RM100 poorer now and still sick :(

It's been a busy week :), nevertheless it's all turning out fine :). 2 Legal Skills Assignments dued and handed in, and then there are Contract and Tort assignments this week :). Law School has been really fun, especially Criminal Law. We have been fed with lots of interesting yet traumatising cases.

Who would have thought you could watch Desperate Housewives, Stephen Chow's movie or even Star Wars during classes? Then with all these work done, there's the Christmas party next Tuesday in Taylor's for the orphans! I'm really excited for that, we are gonna be doing the Christmas Carol, hope it turns out well :). There is this UNICEF event which will be happening in Taylor's every Wednesday :), our booth will be set out in front of the Student Life Centre, just come and check us out alright? All you have to do is just sign the card and fill in your details then you will be one of the supporters for preventing Child Abuse :)

The child abuse cases has been rising rapidly in KL, so let's just do all we can to prevent them alright? If you are wondering about what kind of UNICEF event I'm talking about, I have actually blogged about it before, it's here :)

If you can't be there at our booth, it's ok, we will be mobile and going around campus to look for you, just don't turn us down ok :D

Hola, the week has come to an end. It's weekend now. Unfortunately, my weekend will be spent doing assignment, I so won't let myself get too distracted. Anyhow, this week has been tough, but as I have said, I'm thankful to have awesome friends who never let me down :)

Did I mention I love free hugs? Thank God, I have ample of friends who are generous in giving hugs XD When everything seems so wrong and like there are just so much to do, just look up and don't be afraid to ask for hugs, and also SMILE! Do you know that the world is a much much better place when you smile :)?

Right, right. During Wednesday, all of us year one law students suited up and went to visit the Malaysian Parliament. My, my, it was an eye-opener for me. Seriously, I got to watch them debate furiously live! At some part, it got pretty rough and of course, it was interesting too. They were discussing various issues including GDP :).

Anyhow, we had lots of fun over there at Parliament, everything had to be kept in the locker except for our wallets.

Somehow and somewhat, I caught the 'Jack's Disease' and got lame.

It's affecting me more and more, save me peeps!

About today, alright today was the longest time I spent in Lakeside Campus since I started here a month ago. I was there from 7am to 7pm.

Anyway, this is the Friday I love the most so far :D

Friday has always been the most dreaded and tiring day of the week for me ever since I started law school :( Blame it on the 8-4 classes.

Well, I've been raving about how I really want to watch 'The Social Network' and how everyone seemed to get the premiere screenings invites but me. FYI, just in case you don't know, I spammed a lot on Twitter regarding that issue XD.

So ya, today I finally got a chance to have my very own premiere screening of 'The Social Network' with the computing school friends ♥

Thanks a lot, P for the wonderful experience :D

This is a really cool movie in a way. It's really all about how Facebook was developed and about the lawsuits Mark had to face. Anyway, enough info for now. Go and watch it peeps if you don't mind watching a film with lots of talking and talking :). I don't mind watching the movie again, so ya if anyone wants to watch this movie with me and buy me popcorns, I don't mind LOL.

Last but not least, before I go off to continue with my assignment, I would like to wish a very happy holiday to all my friends who has finished their exams today, and to those who are flying, BON VOYAGE!

Sometimes it's easy to feel like you're the only one in the world who's struggling, frustrated or barely getting by. That feeling is a lie. If you just hold on and find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay, because we all need a little help sometimes. Someone to help us hear the music of the world and to remind us that it won't always be this way. That someone is out there and will always find you :)

and it's something that happened today that made me realised this :).

While assignment-ing, fyi I have a few tutorials to prepare and 4 assignments to go. On the brighter side, one assignment down :).

ANYWAY, something cheered me up :)

Let's Unite Against Child Abuse.

We often hear about war, poverty, AIDS and even bird flu cases. Child abuse is not unfamiliar to us at all, but how many actually cares to do SOMETHING to help prevent child abuse?

Do you know?

In 2008, an average of 7 children in Malaysia were abused a day. And these were only reported cases. And knowing how hardly child abuse cases are reported, chances are there were much more children being abused daily as compared to what the published statistics show. These figures does not tell us anything about the scope, magnitude and reasons for child abuse in Malaysia.

I'm sure many of us knows what child abuse means, and by child abuse, I don't mean just physically, it can be mentally and sexually. I myself don't read much on news and reports about child abuse, it's too heart wrenching for me, however I do watch the news and sometimes child abuse being portrayed in shows and documentary. Those children, they don't even know that they are being abused, because they are so young and their minds have already been made to believe that the abuse is not wrong. That's the thought that frightens me. Even if they know that they are being abused, they are too afraid to speak out.

There are many channels all around the world that we, as normal civillians can participate and lend a hand to help stop child abuse, but how many of us actually bothers to be a part of it? Excuses like 'no time' and 'not interested' should never have been there at the first place.

Considering how the number of child abuse cases has been increasing in Malaysia every year, UNICEF has started a nationwide movement called "Get on Board" to provide the public with the information, insight and resources to stop child abuse. This knowledge will empower everyone to protect the children in our families and communities. Let us show our children that at least a 100,000 of us care. The more people who raise their hand to be counted, the stronger the campaign becomes to deter an abuser from hurting a child.

What is the Get On Board Campaign About?

Get on Board is a "people's campaign" by UNICEF to provide the Malaysian public with a platform to learn and respond to child abuse in the country. The digitally driven campaign, a first by UNICEF in the region, aims to strengthen public understanding of child abuse by providing information on the types of abuse, why it could happen and how to recognise symptoms in an abused child. It also hopes to empower the public to act on behalf of children by equipping them with protection solutions, parenting tips, action ideas and a directory of important resources. The campaign will run for two months. It was launched on 6 October in Kuala Lumpur and will culminate on 10 December (in conjunction with Human Rights Day). The finale will be hosted by UNICEF together with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and a local NGO, Childline Malaysia.

I very much agree with what the GOB celebrities has got to say about the campaign, especially Ruth Liew (parental expert, author and columnist).

“Children are people too! They need our respect and attention.

This campaign against child abuse and neglect wants everyone, young and old, men and women to stand up for children.

It is our responsibility to give our children a safe environment to grow and develop. We must no longer wait for social problems to go away. We must do it together! ”

The Get on Board website offers the Malaysian public a platform to unite and show their support to stopping child abuse. By logging online to www.uniteagainstabuse.my, concerned and caring individuals can show their support by:

Learning more about child abuse. The website provides resources and opportunities to engage, educate and empower all of us to protect children from abuse.
Signing up to the campaign. They do this by creating their own unique "Hand" symbol which can be used as their Facebook profile picture or on other social media to show solidarity across the country to end child abuse.
Sharing materials on the website with their friends, loved ones and colleagues. All information on the website has Facebook and Twitter sharing capabilities so that users can help spread the word on how we can stop child abuse.

My 19th birthday, eternalized :)

Hello peeps, the blogging mojo is back in action :) Wow, this must have been the longest time that I've abandoned my blog :S You know what, that's the effect of law school, yay blame it on law school xD. Nah, actually this week there weren't much classes as classes clash with many events so many classes were postponed.

I didn't blog for so long was undeniably mainly caused by law school and also I've not been in the blogging mood. Many sad and unfortunate things had happened to me in the past week. However, all is well now because friends and family are there for me :) You have no idea how life can be sometimes. I don't think anyone have any idea :P

Oh ya, one thing I found out is that hug cures everything, not just smiles. I've been hugging peeps more often now after the 'Hug an Indian' day, boy.. you have no idea how much I love hugging a specific someone ;).

A hug is a form of welcome and care. You spread your arms and you welcome people into your embrace :) I've been feeling rather exhausted and lack of energy recently, so what did I do to keep me going throughout the day? Basically, it's the primary fuel of mine, COFFEE and hugs from my friends :)

Have also been feeling unwell recently due to my low blood pressure and sugar level I guess. What's more? It's the time of the month again today. Everything seemed so blue, the cramps were horrible and I can barely feel my feet. *Sigh* so sad I couldn't joined any activities during the five hours break :(. Anyway, went home and rested then was recharged for Contract Lecture :) Hugs also enhanced my energy whee! I think it's a form of energy sapper for me to sap from my friends :P

Anyway, today a senior came and told us bout the Community Service of law school. Jack and I was really interested in being a part of the committee. So guess what? Both of us were selected :) So happy and relieved! I'm really looking forward to the Legal Aid Clinic that is going to happen soon, and also the UNICEF thing that Aida mentioned today. I hope there will be more community work in the future, and OF COURSE a secret fantasy of mine, blood drive :)) I love donating blood!

Oh ya, gotta mention this as well, my birthday celebration was eternalized by the class :) due to the fact that Wei Ling is quitting law school for architecture. So ya, she's gonna be staring at my 19th birthday in her room everyday :P

First Hiking Trip with Classmates to Broga Hill.

Heyyo peepos, today was my first time going for a hiking trip with my classmates! Our targeted place was Broga Hill :)

The 18 of us gathered at Taylor's Lakeside Campus around 4.30am. Boy, Lakeside was beautiful that time :) The difference between Lakeside at 4am and Lakeside at 9am is a wide gap yo!

Then, 5am! We adjourned to Broga Hill in CONVOY :D. Four cars were headed towards Broga.

I was the map reader in Wei Ling's car *proud*. Oh well, I gotta salute Wei Ling's driving, she's a really fast driver. We reached Broga a while after adjourning and BOY IT WAS PITCH DARK. There were no one but us at the carpark. No lights, no souls, just well... us.

Thank God for the existence of company and of course TORCHLIGHT!

Bye Bye Broga!

The girls in the same car as me, as hyper as ever lol. I'm in the front seat xD

Broga was a new experience for me because I'm not exactly a sport person, neither have I hiked in such a good weather before. I've hiked several times in the past, but the weather was not treating me well! I always ended up with a pair of shoes to throw away or a terrible headache. Anyway I'm really glad we did this during our first week of break.

Here's something about Broga. If you are an amateur in hiking, or you just want to have a taste of hiking with your loved ones, or to watch sunset, or simply just an exercise, Broga Hill is the place to go.

However, do take note that Broga is quite a remote area in Semenyih, there will not be any 24 hours convenience shop or toilets nearby, be sure to go to the toilet at Petronas gas station at Semenyih town (which you will come across while you are on your way there).

I've seen peeps with sandals, shorts, jeans, sneakers and even crocs. So yea, unless you are pretty sure you can hike in these sorts of attire, if not don't do it, be on the safe side, like me :) trackbottom and trainers! Oh ya NOT FORGETTING tonnes of water :) You will be sweating like crazy, trust me because that happened to me.

I can't wait for our next class outing :)

I'm gonna tell a story about three people who has got nothing to do on a Saturday night, they decided to meet up and have a yumcha session at One Cafe.

Min and I met up with JJ at One Cafe around 8.20pm. The poor JJ sprained his right ankle :(

You see what I mean :)

Anyway Min had some sort of chicken chop and I ordered their signature fried beancurd in rojak sauce. Nothing special, typical food, therefore not worth mentioning :) The star of the night is the pizza I'm going to introduce to you below :) Only people who has birthday in the month itself can redeem such a tasty and unique pizza! But of course T&C apply :)

This is a very unique thin pizza, you won't get too stuffed or bloated even after three pieces, it's a very flavorful dish :)

Anyway the ambience in One Cafe is nice, even on a Saturday night, it's not that crowded and it's cooling, just something like Station 1 Cafe. However, you pay more to dine in One Cafe. I will come back for their dessert next time :)
